The Oriental Cockroach
black in colour and is larger, growing up to 30 mm  in lenth. The adults and nymphs
hide during the day coming out at night to forage for food.  The adult can live for
approximately 26 weeks. This species also prefers colder conditions. The male and
female of this species vary in appearance, the male having longer wings and is
capable of short   flights of up to 2 to 3 mtrs with a narrower body than the female.
Treatments are normally a combination of
different methods using dust injecting
equipment, baits and residual sprays. Control
is achieved  quickly with a fast knockdown
of the population with the baits giving long
term eradication. Queensland has been
successful in achieving control of some very
extensive and long established infestations
where others control firms in the industry
have failed.
